FAQ

A grid-connected solar rooftop system lets solar panels change Direct Current (DC) energy into Alternating Current (AC) and inputs energy directly into the building’s main power source. Any surplus of the energy produced can be reclaimed by the electrical grid through what is known as net metering which is accompanied by credits for future usage.

Approximately 10-12 square meters of shadow-free area is needed per kilowatt peak (kWp) for a grid-connected solar rooftop system. This translates to about 50-80 square feet per kW, depending on the specific installation.

The cost of installation is different based on the capacity, for example, the system including 50-100 kWp costs around 42,000, while the systems up to 500 kWp cost about 39,000 per kWp. The final price depends on the result of a site survey conducted calmly by the EPC company

The Indian government offers financial assistance of up to 30% called Central Financial Assistance (CFA) to the cost of solar rooftop systems which are grid connected that are installed at their homes. For commercial and industrial sectors, there are incentives as depreciation recovery rates and tax incentives but no discrimination on subsidies.
